Diving a Two-Spot Red Snapper Spawning Aggregation [日本語 ↓FR ↓]
Palau's two-spot / twinspot red snapper (Lutjanus bohar) spawning aggregations occur before the full moon, on certain corners of the archipelago's outer-reef.
In these mass spawning events, groups of snappers emit gametes (sperm and eggs) into the outgoing tidal currents. The current then pushes the fertilised eggs that managed to escape predation to open water, where fish-to be will have a change to develop before returning to the reefs.
Snapper spawning events happen every month in Palau, and aggregations can range from a few hundred to ten thousand individuals, depending on seasonal conditions.

満月の数日前、パラオでは数千から1万匹ものバラフエダイが産卵のために集まります。
受精した卵は、下げ潮とともに外洋へ運ばれていきます。

Les agrégations de frai des vivaneau à deux taches (Lutjanus bohar) ont lieu tous les mois à Palau, à quelques jours de la pleine lune, sur certains coins choisis du récif extérieur de l'archipel.
Dans ces évènements de reproduction de masse, des groupes des lutjans diffusent leurs gamètes (oeuf et sperme) dans le courant sortant.
Le courant pousse les oeufs fertilisés ayant échappé aux prédateurs affamés vers le large, où les poissons en devenir tenteront de se développer, avant de revenir habiter le récif.
Ces évènements de frai se produisent tous les mois à Palau, et les agrégations peuvent aller de quelques centaines à dix mille individus, en fonction des conditions saisonnières.
